Dear Diary,
I've been thinking about this a lot over the last week. For the purposes of this 'diary', I'm not going to have a theme, or a particular subject I stick to, except my life as a writer. A theme will probably emerge, but not one I'm planning in advance.
With that in mind, I have to get this off my chest. Even though I'm a big girl, and have had more manuscripts rejected than is good for my mental health, a recent rejection of a completely revised story hit deeper than I thought at first. And, though I thought I was handling it rationally, it's effected a lot of areas of my life. Finally figured it out today.
So, the small break I've been been on to take care of the home fires is about to end. The second I made that decision I understood. I should be writing. I want to be writing. I will be writing.
So moving on. I've decided to give Diary a name. Opening up on paper is, after all, a bit like birthing a baby. Her name is Idella. Sharing my thoughts with her will be like talking to myself - a little kinky and edgy, I know, but hey! It works.
Next week looks like this...tying up a few remaining loose ends, reading through the rest of my CP's manuscript, starting the revisions of the first half of my new novel, making notes, mapping out the story so far.
Life is all about living and learning, right?
