Affordable Travel: Moonstone Spa at Oregon Garden Resort

One of the things I want to do this year is visit as many spas as I can. That won't be very many (probably) because of other life things going on, like devoting serious time to the house remodel (which we're going to hit hard), building raised beds in the garden (I hope), and working on the writing. Last November though, my travel buddies and I stayed at the Oregon Garden Resort and while we were there checked out their Moonstone Spa.

Admittedly, the best time to visit the Oregon Garden is in the summertime, when everything is in full bloom. But for the four of us (#that'swhatfriendsare4), we can brainstorm and write anywhere, and slashing, stormy weather is generally not an issue. November's monsoon definitely tested our resolve in that regard. It didn't stop us from keeping our appointments at the Spa.

The first thing to know is to make a reservation as far in advance as you can. Just outside of Silverton, Oregon, Moonstone is a popular destination, and for good reason. If you're looking for renewal and relaxation, this spa definitely delivers.

Their menu includes a lot of options for massages, facials, and waxing. The service I chose is the MOONSTONE SIGNATURE MASSAGE for 50 minutes. “This classic Swedish massage uses warm river stones on the hands and feet to relieve tension and promote healing. | $85.” I can say, it was well worth it, even walking in the stormy rain from our room to the main part of the resort where the spa is located. The staff was gracious. The ambiance reinvigorating. And it's worth the cost to disconnect and recharge.

What to pack for your trip? Depending on the season, a rain jacket, good walking shoes, and a good book. I highly recommend the Moonstone Spa for your bucket list.

Happy traveling.

Susan
